Wichita Auto Dealers "Cars for Kids" event raised over $100,000
for the Wichita Children's Home for the second year in a row!
The
Wichita Auto Dealers Association and the Wichita Children's
Home hosted the second annual "Cars for Kids" Gala on Thursday
February 10, 2005 at Century II Expo hall. Over 750 guests
enjoyed a private viewing of all the new cars and trucks,
an exclusive Jewelry show presented by The First Place, fashion
show by Models and Images, Brick's, Lyndon's and Tragically
Chic and danced to music by King Midas and the Muflers.
What an evening! New cars, jewels and fashions, enjoyed while
listening to lively entertainment, snacking on delicious hors
d'oeuvres and sipping beverages. The Wichita Auto Dealers
sponsored this wonderful gala event for the second year in
a row. "Every penny we collect for this event will go directly
to the Wichita Children's Home," said Dawson Grimsley, Davis-Moore
Auto Group. Last year the Wichita Auto Dealers raised $105,000
for the Wichita Children's Home in just the first year!
The Wichita Children's Home has served the needs of the community's
children for over 100 years, first as an orphanage, and today,
as a temporary, emergency shelter for children in crisis.
The home is accessible 24 hours a day to innocent victims
of abuse, neglect, abandonment and homelessness, as well as
runaways and those facing family crisis. Equipped with a modern
facility and competent, trained staff, the home works hard
to assure children's safety and well being.
The
Wichita Auto Dealers Association presented a check to the
Wichita Children's Home for $75,000. By the end of the evening
there were well over $100,000 in proceeds going to the Wichita
Children's Home.
